This romantic comedy honestly and frankly discusses the struggles of young Christian singles who choose celibacy before marriage.
Clarissa Rodney is a young, successful television producer who is living an Christian lifestyle, pursuing the Lord with all of her heart. A thirtieth-birthday trip to the gynecologist in which she is told that her fertility is “in decline” sends her into a tailspin of self-doubt and anxiety.
In church, Clarissa’s personal crisis is met with pat answers from ministers, a stereotypical form of judgment from friends and inept advances from a well-meaning but unattractive suitor. At work, Clarissa’s greatest nightmare is realized when she is assigned by the network to create a reality dating series geared toward Christians.
The best candidate for “God’s Bachelor” happens to be Clarissa’s ex-boyfriend Marcus, the one she broke up with in order to devote more of herself to God. Her best friend and fellow producer, Ed, is eager to reconnect Clarissa with her former flame.
Clarissa’s heart, body and mind all seem to be pulling her in separate directions. How will she deal?
I’m excited that someone is finally tackling this issue, with what sounds like a very humourous and frank approach. I appreciate this project on two levels – one, I’m a christian and i’m a girl, so it’s a relevant topic, and two, I’m an actor and a Christian, and the more Christian projects are created, the bigger my chances are of getting to finally act in something I can fully support and be proud of! God bless and may this project prosper.
Thanks Naomi! We’re really excited about the project and look forward to your feedback on the site as we continue to promote the movie. So continue to check the site for more updates!
Hey… I am digging the concept of the movie but I just have one question. Celibacy.. isn’t that moreso giving up marriage and sex totally? However isn’t what Clarissa is choosing to do moreso abstaining since she’s already had sex before?
I’m new in my walk and in looking up the definition of celibacy, I wanted to make sure I’m not misinterpreting anything.
Again..I look forward to seeing this film come to life as it is so right on… when I get paid.. I will donate
You’re definitely right about the definitions of those words! But you know, after it’s been a while–like years and years–it takes on a whole other level of meaning. That’s why we went with the deeper meaning.
And thanks for the support!!
